The Jefferson Historical Society and Museum's mission is to educate and preserve the history of early Marion County and Jefferson the town.
Visit the 1888 former Jefferson Post Office and Federal Courthouse transformed into the Historical Museum housing artifacts which pertain and relate to the history of Jefferson and Marion County.
Not only are there four floors of artifacts, but there is a replica of a Railroad Depot on the Museum grounds which houses a HO gauge model railroad layout depicting the Texas and Pacific Railway in West Texas in the1950s.
